I was a good boy and came home early from comedy last night in anticipation of waking up early and filming the days work at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
I was out the door before 8 am, an ungodly hour for a comedian. With banana in hand along with the flip cam I headed east from my place to give the weather report to my helper for the day. If the wind is blowing at the track there is no reason to load up and bring out the sprayer. Unless the machine used is specially fitted to compensate for the wind we cant spray in much wind at all. 5-10 mph wind may be enough to distort the spray pattern we are calibrating for. Also if the iron we spray on turf is accidentally sprayed on, or drifts over the asphalt due to wind, it will leave an rusty stain that may never come off.
Up early today as it turns out to have a look at the turf this week compared to last and do a new video from the track. The Video is up on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N081T4wfR4
I am planning on traveling the country and talking to the people that take care of some of the most important pieces of grass in the United States.
Stay tuned for those stories and more………
